The Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation has been devoted to the service of Education ever since its foundation by Nano Nagle in 1775 in Ireland. Nano believed that education was a powerful means of transforming society and hence she began her mission among the poor in the “Little School” in Cove Lane, Cork. From a small beginning in Cork city, the Presentation Sisters spread to many towns in Ireland and hence, to many parts of the world. Inspired by Nano’s sense of universal mission, the Presentation Sisters came to India in the year 1842.
In the spirit of our Foundress, Nano Nagle, the Sisters in India promote Education at primary, secondary and professional levels, thus, bringing about an all round development of a child.
The task of the Presentation School today is to accompany the students to discover the light within themselves and share it with others, to make them ‘God-centered’; to enable them to be responsible citizens in the world of our times and play their unique role in the transformation of society.
“If I could be of service in saving souls in any part of the world, I would willingly do all in my power”.
-Nano Nagle
